Eight Office Support Roles Filled Before a Hub Opening
A logistics company opening a new distribution hub needed eight permanent office support roles filled within a month. IE Services screened over 120 applicants and placed all eight two days before the hub went live.
The challenge
A logistics company in Ekurhuleni opened a new regional distribution hub and needed to fill eight permanent office support roles - warehouse administrators, a debtors clerk, a creditors clerk and a PA to the operations director - within a month of the hub's opening date. The tight timeline left no room for re-advertising, and a slow placement process would have meant the hub opening without adequate administrative support.
Our approach
IE Services ran a targeted advertising campaign across online job boards and our candidate database, generating over 120 applications within five days. We screened all applicants against skills, cultural fit and available start dates, conducted structured telephonic interviews, and presented a shortlist of two to three candidates per role. Full reference checks were completed before final candidates were invited for client interviews, keeping the client's time commitment to a minimum.
The outcome
All eight positions were confirmed and staff were in their roles two days before the hub's opening date. Six of the eight placements remained with the client beyond the 90-day guarantee period, and three were subsequently promoted into supervisory roles. The client has since engaged IE Services for two further permanent placement drives.
